Swimming has been a core part of my life, and I’m passionate about helping others grow and improve in the water.

As a dedicated Masters swimmer, I train rigorously to push my own limits and refine my technique, and I bring that same dedication to my coaching.

With a background in endurance sports and coaching, I tailor lessons for swimmers of all levels—whether you’re a beginner building confidence or a competitive athlete looking to fine-tune your stroke mechanics.

Beyond the pool, I believe in the power of consistency, personal growth, and community. Swimming isn’t just about technique—it’s about strength, resilience, and discipline.

No matter your goal—improving efficiency, gaining endurance, or overcoming fear in the water—I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Hi, I’m Sandy,

A former aquatic coordinator at the YMCA-YWCA of Vancouver Island where I lead a team of swim instructors and lifeguards whose goals were to provide a welcoming, collaborative, and safe environment for the public. I gained a love of the water through my childhood and thoroughly enjoy passing this enthusiasm onto others. I have an extensive background in instruction for children, youth, and adults.

All lessons encompass safety, comfort, proficiency, and play. Customizing a lesson plan enhances a positive experience and leads to a successful journey.

Hi, I’m Talia!

I’ve been a lifeguard and swim instructor for over five years. During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to teach swimmers of all ages and abilities through regular lifesaving lessons and adapted lessons. Whether it’s helping young kids feel comfortable and confident in the water for the very first time or guiding swimmers through more advanced, skill-based levels, I love supporting each person’s unique journey!

For the past four years, I’ve also taught lifesaving courses such as Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion, focusing on building strong water safety knowledge and practical rescue skills. Alongside instructing, I’ve coached both swim club and masters swimmers, designing endurance and technique-focused workouts to help athletes reach their personal goals.

I grew up swimming competitively for 12 years, which gave me a lifelong love for the water. More importantly, it taught me how impactful a positive and encouraging environment can be when learning something new. I’m currently a student at the University of Victoria studying Elementary Education, where I continue to develop my teaching skills and deepen my passion for working with kids.

I believe swimming is such an important skill, and water safety is something everyone should feel confident in. I love teaching in a way that’s fun, encouraging, and interactive, so swimmers feel comfortable trying new things and celebrating their progress. When kids feel supported, their confidence really shines, and my goal is always to create lessons they’re excited to return to each time they’re at the pool!

No matter the level, I look forward to seeing you in the pool!

“Hi, my name is Anastasia,

I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Kinesiology and hold a certification from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, along with nutrition coaching credentials. I currently train clients across multiple gyms, including individuals with a range of chronic conditions.

Swimming has always been the foundation of my athletic career. I competed at a high-performance level with Keyano Swim Club and Island Swimming Club, where I developed a strong emphasis on technique, efficiency, and performance.

My coaching approach is technique-driven, focused on building confidence in the water while keeping sessions engaging, structured and fun!

I also have experience in lifeguard competitions, including advanced rescue skills such as mannequin retrieval and deep-water scenarios, which strengthened my awareness and control in aquatic environments.

I aim to create a positive, focused space in every session where swimmers can refine technique, build confidence, and continuously improve.”
